Anniversary: Kurt Jarasinski

Today, November 6th, it’s the Birthday Anniversary of German rider Kurt Jarasinski. He was born in Elpersbüttel, Schleswig-Holstein, on November 6 1938, and died on October 27 2005.

Kurt Jarasinski was a very talented rider. His mentor was Fritz Thiedemann, who’s post as Bereiter of the Holsteiner Verband he took over in 1961. He won gold medal on Torro with the German team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 1964, and was 8th in the individual competition. He won the Hamburg Derby twice; on Raffaela in 1960 and on Torro in 1966. On Raffaela he also won the prestigious King George V Gold Cup in 1962.
