Here’s Kathy Kusner on Aberali, jumping the 2.20 meter wall and winning the Puissance in Aachen 1967. Aberali was already 12 years and had become a terrible stopper when he was bought to her from Italy via Nelson Pessoa in 1966. With her experience lots of patience Kusner managed to get rid of his stopping habit. She had few years of success with him, specially in Puissance classes.

Kathy Kusner (USA) rode three Olympic Games – Tokyo 1964, Mexico City 1968 and Munich 1972. In Munich she won the team Silver Medal with the US team consisting of Frank Chapot on White Lightning, Kathy Kusner on Fleet Apple, Neal Shapiro on Sloopy and William Steinkraus on Main Spring.
In Europe she won the Grand Prix of Dublin twice, the Grand Prix of Rotterdam, the Grand Prix of Hickstead, the Grand Prix of Ostende and the Grand Prix of Lucerne. She also took prestigious victories in Aachen and La Baule.
